Meet the Bobs: Lucas

 

Lucas Hive, born in Uberlândia City, Brazil, is a world-class professional dancer and choreographer that captivates every crowd with his incredible energy, movement, charisma and dynamic flow. With a lifelong passion for dance, Lucas has trained in a diverse range of styles including ballet foundations, contemporary, street dance, jazz funk, hip hop, capoeira, samba, waacking, vogue, afro, and percussion. Lucas's dance journey began at a young age in Brazil, and he quickly rose to prominence as part of the renowned dance company Balé de Rua. This opportunity took him across the globe, allowing him to perform in countries such as Uruguay, France, Australia, United Kingdom, Israel, and the U.S.

Eventually, Lucas moved to São Paulo in 2016, where he joined the esteemed team at Millennium Dance Complex Brazil, working with major artists in Brazil, getting featured in the biggest Brazilian carnival TV commercial (Globeleza 2017/2018) and earning a nomination for 'Most Viral Video' at the ‘MTV MIAW’ Brazilian Awards in 2018. With his talent and passion, Lucas made his way to Hong Kong in 2018 to perform in shows at Ocean Park and eventually moved to Los Angeles, California in 2019, where he joined Bob's Dance Shop during the pandemic. Drawing from his vast experience, Lucas brings a boundless energy to every performance. For Hive, the stage is not just a performance space, but a sacred space for full self-expression and he helps audiences embrace and embody this same sense of liberation and power through his art. Lucas believes that his purpose is to bring the dance to the front line as artists and as a feature alongside other artists. In addition to choreography, Lucas is also the video editor for Bob’s Dance Shop and thoroughly enjoys creating, editing the videos. Lucas has also been recognized as an accredited choreographer, visionary, and movement director for prestigious talent, festivals, television commercials, and brands like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Tom Ford, Coca-Cola, New York Fashion Week, Pabllo Vittar, Jessie J, The Chicks, SOFI TUKKER, Steven Klein, Born This Way Foundation, Wet Tennis Tour, A-Lin, Planet Fitness, Times Square, Gloria Groove, CAPYAC, and more.
